Two Stops, Three Weeks

The busiest three weeks of the GCP Tour calendar start tomorrow. Two stops, two states, and a brand-new tournament series to close it out.

Pearl River Poker Open — September 24 to October 4

The Pearl River Poker Open returns to Pearl River Resort in Choctaw, Mississippi for eleven days, and it is the biggest schedule we have ever put on the felt there. Over $800,000 in guarantees, anchored by two separate $300,000 events.

Day 1A of the Double Bag Bonus kicks off Thursday, September 24 at noon — $500 to enter, 30,000 starting chips, and a $5,000 Big Bag Bonus for the biggest stack to bag on the opening flight. Five flights run through Saturday the 26th, so there is no excuse for missing this one.

Then the back half of the series belongs to the Main Event: $300,000 guaranteed, $700 to enter, four flights across October 2 and 3, with 40- and 60-minute levels. Day 1A carries its own $5,000 Big Bag Bonus.

In between, the schedule is stacked:

• Big Monster Stack — $75,000 GTD, $500, 60,000 chips (Monday, Sept 28)
• Super Stack — $50,000 GTD, $400, and a monstrous 75,000 starting stack (Thursday, Oct 1)
• Seniors — $30,000 GTD, $400 (Tuesday, Sept 29)
• No Limit Holdem Deepstack — $30,000 GTD, $400, 40,000 chips (Wednesday, Sept 30)
• Pot Limit Omaha — $20,000 GTD, $500 (Wednesday, Sept 30)
• Ladies of GCP Championship — $10,000 GTD, $300 (Saturday, Sept 26)
• Rookies — under $50k in Hendon Mob cashes, $200 (Saturday, Oct 3)

Nightly Deepstacks carry a $10,000 guarantee and the Big Nightlies are at $20,000. If you want into the Main on the cheap, the Race to 50K Megas run Wednesday and Thursday at 7:00pm — $170 with ten seats guaranteed.

Arkansas Poker Classic — October 6 to 11

Two days after the Pearl River Main Event wraps, we open a brand-new stop. The Arkansas Poker Classic runs October 6-11 at Saracen Casino Resort in Pine Bluff — about forty minutes south of Little Rock, and the first time the GCP Tour has planted a flag in Arkansas.

We did not come quietly. The Main Event is $300,000 guaranteed at $600 a shot, with five starting flights between Thursday the 8th and Saturday the 10th. Every flight gives you 30,000 chips and 40-minute levels, and Flight 4A on Thursday afternoon carries a $5,000 Big Bag Bonus.

Across the six days there is more than $430,000 in total guarantees:

• Seniors Event — $30,000 GTD, $400 (Tuesday, Oct 6, 10:00am)
• Big O — $20,000 GTD, $400 (Tuesday, Oct 6, 4:00pm)
• Big Monster Stack — $50,000 GTD, $500, 60,000 starting chips (Wednesday, Oct 7)
• Pot Limit Omaha Championship — $20,000 GTD, $400 (Thursday, Oct 8)
• Ladies Event — $10,000 GTD, $300 (Thursday, Oct 8)
• Rookies — under $50k in Hendon Mob cashes, $300 (Friday, Oct 9)
• Old School Freezeout — $400 (Sunday, Oct 11)

Nightly Deepstacks run at $200, the Sunday Big Nightly is $300, and $150 Race to 50k Megas on Wednesday and Thursday get you into the Main for a fraction of the buy-in. The Wednesday Mega has ten seats guaranteed.

Saracen is a genuine resort stop — an 80,000 square foot floor, a dedicated poker room, an all-new hotel tower steps from the tables, and Red Oak Steakhouse when you need to step away from the felt.

Planning the run

If you are playing both, the gap is tight but workable: the Pearl River Main Event restarts Sunday, October 4, and Arkansas Event 1 starts Tuesday, October 6 at 10:00am. Choctaw to Pine Bluff is a long but manageable drive, and a deep run in Mississippi is a good problem to have.

Room blocks are open at both properties. At Saracen, guests must be 26 or older to book a hotel room, and all players need a valid government-issued ID and a Saracen Player's Card in good standing.
